Actually the US outspent the Axis powers into oblivion. The US built over 40,000 M4 Sherman tanks one of several varients of US tanks to serve during the war. They gave over 4,000 to the Soviet Union alone. The most produced German tank was the Panzar Mark IV at just over 9,000.

Walmart is seeing record profits because most of us cannot afford, in these times, to go to high end department stores and pay higher prices. Walmart and Dollar store chains are all showing record profits that they did not see when times were better and people were spending money they did not have.
